Gallery: The 1975

David Drake is an American photographer, designer and art director based in the UK who works mainly with musicians (like The 1975). Among his other projects, the latest, "The 1975: Neon Lights", cought my attention. Well off course, because I'm obsessed with neon lights X-D

"A recurring theme in his art features the use of various mixed media and digital techniques to deliver high-quality art such as the combination between music from The 1975 and photography. These set of images explore urban landscapes with the use of random words, which connote feelings of nostalgia and wanderlust. These hazy urban landscapes are remeiniscent of the 70s era with the vivid glow, vintage appeal and contrasting colors. These images, unusually, have elements of the iconic period such as posters, velvet lined furnitures, etc. yet do not have a subject in a frame. This component is replaced with bright neon text signs which create context for the psychedelic scene to present itself." (culturenlifestyle.com)
