Rec: Experiencing Timelapse

Timelapse is a photography tehnique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured is much lower than that used to view the film. So when playing on normal speed, time appears to be moving faster. Just on Vimeo you will find thousands of timelapses. I spent hours watching them, and here I want to share the most unique ones.

'Ascendance' by Henry Jun Wah Lee for Evosia Studios:

(links to the official web-sites where you can read all info about the videos-it's very interesting; also the photo sources)

Shot in Joshua Tree National Park, you'll expirience clouds, rainbows, stars, meteors and lightning. Nature is wonderful.

'Adrift' by Simon Christen:

The mesmerising fog gliding through the San Francisco Bay. Totally surreal.

'Mirror City' by Michael Shainblum:

(for info click on the Vimeo logo on the video-it will lead you to Vimeo site where you can read the author's notes)

An abstract combination of timelapse and kaleidoscope, giving the great American cities a new dimension. Very artistic.

(Printscreened)
It took a lot of patience and persistence to create these videos. For example, for the second one it took 2 years (read the info!). And you can also look at the photos on the web-sites. That night sky is beautiful, right?
